  • Account Information: Email address, username, first name, last name, gender, location if you sign up for an account.
  • Device & Usage Data: Non-identifiable diagnostics, crash reports, and analytics to improve app performance.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Deliver location-based alerts and notifications relevant to your area.
  • Display and moderate user-reported incidents.
  • Improve and maintain the App, analyze usage patterns, and diagnose technical issues.

We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose information in the following limited circumstances:

The App does not track you across apps and websites for advertising purposes. We may use third-party services for crash reporting and analytics (limited to technical diagnostics). 6. User Rights & Controls

  • Registered users may access, correct, or request deletion of their account data by contacting support@alerten.org.
  • We fulfill data subject requests in accordance with applicable laws such as the GDPR for EU users.

We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data in transit and at rest (e.g., SSL/TLS). While we strive to protect your information, no system is completely secure — absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described (e.g., account maintenance, legal obligations, moderation history). You can request deletion of your data; certain logs may be retained for legitimate business or legal purposes in anonymized form.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us at support@alerten.org and we will promptly remove the information.

Your information may be processed or stored in countries other than your residence. We take steps to ensure adequate protection in cross-border transfers, such as standard contractual clauses where required.
